WIZKID BECOMES THE FIRST AFRICAN ARTIST TO BE CERTIFIED GOLD IN THE US
Nigerian superstar musician, Ayo Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid has had his 2020 album, ‘Made In Lagos’ certified gold In the United States of America.
On a post made by Charts Africa on Twitter on the 1st of August, 2022, it made known that the album had sold 500,000 copies, which made it eligible to be certified gold. This achievement is coming after the most famous song in the album, ‘Essence’ won the best collaboration award at this year’s BET awards.
The album was also reported to have expanded 90 weeks on the Billboard World Albums chart, making it the longest-charting African album on the chart.
