The Nigerian women’s Under-17 team, also known as Flamingos, won the Bronze medal at the Under-17 world cup. The
The Flamingos achieved this feat for the first time by defeating the Germany Under-17 women 3-2 on penalties. The Flamingos had earlier taken a 3-0 lead which was canceled out by the germans to set the stage for a penalty shoot-out. However, the Flamingos still went out to take the medal.
This will be the first time that the Flamingos will win any medal in the competition. On their way to winning the Bronze, they were able to defeat the USA and now Germany, who had defeated them in the first match of the competition.
