On Tuesday, October 11, 2022, the duo of sensational Nigerian musicians, Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu (Burna Boy) and Teniola Apata (Teni), were conferred national honours by President Muhammadu Buhari at the state house in Abuja.
Burna boy was conferred the honour of ‘Member of the order of the Federal republic’ (MFR) by the president. However, in his absence, his Father was there to pick up the award. This was shown in a video by a tweep.
Also, Teni was conferred the honour of ‘Member of the order of the Niger’ (MON) and she was there to pick up her award. Both musicians were among the 437 people conferred with national honours this year.
